摘要

For a shear building, the vibration under earthquake is mainly in first-mode. After adding turned mass damping(TMD) structure on the roof of building, it is suitable to take only the first-mode in consideration. The combined structure becomes 2-DOF, but its damping matrix is non-classical and its stiffness matrix is non symmetrical. Using analytic expressions suggested by the authors, ail optimal seismic reduced index P (the ratio of the standard deviation of the responses), as well as an optimization design method and some useful data are achieved. All of these are meaningful in practical projects.
