The paper contains the first reports of a bryological survey in the lowland runforest of the Ivindo National Park in Gabon Ceratolejeunea kuerschneri is described as a new species With its scattered ocelli in leaf lobes it is similar to C papuliflora but differs from the latter by the elongate and falcate apical tooth on the lobule A revised key to the African species of the genus is provided Cololcferinea antillana, previously known only from the Antilles is reported is new to Africa adding to the evidence for close biogeographic connections between the bryophyte floras of the Neotropics and sub Saharan Africa 20 species of liverworts are reported as new to Gabon
