  Paper, which has network-like porous structure, is mainly composed of plant fiber.With hydrophilicity, the moisture content of paper is directly connected with the environment humidity.The variation of moisture content will directly affect the mechanical properties of paper.The paper explored the effect of environmental humidity and moisture absorption time on the mechanical properties of corrugated paper and electro-photocopying paper.Using the constant temperature and humidity equipment to regulate the environment humidity, the variation of moisture content and mechanical properties under different circumstances of environmental humidity coupled with the mechanism of the effect of humidity on mechanical properties were studied.The experiment revealed that the moisture content went up when the humidity increased, especially when the relative humidity reached over 60%.Meanwhile, the ring crush index and burst index of corrugated paper as well as the stiffress and tensile index of electro-photocopying paper declined.When the paper absorbed the moisture more than 24 hours, the paper became saturated with moisture and the mechanical properties kept the same level.The study could provide theoretical direction to the set-up of production environment as well as improvement of resistance to moisture.
