摘要

The use of a medical mass spectrometer for measuring the concentration of the gas mixture components in the breathing circuit of an inhalational anesthesia machine in the real-time mode is described. The resolution of the mass spectrometer is M/Delta M = 200, and the detection threshold in terms of the partial pressure of the analyzed gases is 2 x 10(-12) mbar. The mass spectrometer is capable of measuring the volumetric content of CO2, O-2, and inhalational anesthetic sevoflurane. The respiratory coefficient (CO2/O-2) was measured during anesthesia to estimate the patient's stress reaction to a surgical injury.
