Anisotropic spin freezing in lightly-doped La2-xSrxCuO4

摘要

We performed polarized neutron scattering experiments in lightly-doped La1.982Sr0.018CuO4, which shows both Neel ordering and spin-glass state at low temperatures. Three-dimensional neutron polarization analysis was performed on diffuse magnetic peaks in the spin-glass phase. From the analysis, we concluded that the ratio of the spin components along the a, b and c axes is 0.8, 1.0 and 0.15, respectively, indicating that the low energy spin fluctuations (|E| < 1.7 meV) have the XY anisotropy.
