MULTICHANNEL SPECTROSCOPY SYSTEM BASED ON VA2TA FRONT-END SELF-TRIGGERED CHIP

摘要

An experimental prototype of a spectroscopy system that is based on 128-channel self-triggered VA2TA chip has been created. Software which allows registering and analyzing events in a multistrip silicon sensor has been developed. Main parameters of the measurement are defined in a program window and they control how the information from the connected channels is being processed. Low noise silicon planar and multistrip sensors have been bonded to the VA2TA chip and the energy resolution of the system has been tested. Spectra from Am-241, Co-57 and characteristic X-ray radiation have been measured to test the energy resolution which was approximately 3.6 ... 3.9 keV for a planar sensor for the energies in a range of 26 ... 122 keV.
