摘要

The particles in magnetorheological fluid will move to form chains when they are subjected to an applied magnetic field, and the property of magnetorheological fluid should be changed due to the evolution of microstructure. In this paper, a model for the motion of particles is proposed based on the analysis of dynamics of the particles, and the corresponding numerical approach is developed. In order to accelerate the simulation, several techniques are used, which including Velocity-Verlet algorithm, combined link-cell and Verlet list method, combined fixed and variable time step method, etc. The developed approach is of good convergence and computational efficiency and can provide a practical method to investigate the microstructure and property of magnetorheological fluid at a microscopic level.
