摘要
Motivated by dental applications, a novel Eu2+-doped 3Y-TZP dental bioceramic with fluorescence similar to natural teeth was prepared by calcination of molded powders comprising 3 mol% Eu2O3 and 97 mol% 3Y-TZP under reducing atmosphere. The fluorescent properties of 3Y-TZP discs containing 6 mol% Eu2+ or not were characterized and compared with those of natural tooth. The phase constitution, surface microstructure and some mechanical properties of Eu2+-doped 3Y-TZP and 3Y-TZP discs were also investigated. Finally, the cytotoxicity of 6 mol% Eu2+-doped 3Y-TZP disc was evaluated from biocompatible viewpoints. The result shows that the 6 mol% Eu2+-doped 3Y-TZP disc can reproduce the fluorescence of natural teeth with the broad blue green emission band centered at 490 nm under irradiation of 365 nm, which corresponds to 4f(6)5d -> 4e(7) transition of Eu2+. Moreover, doping 6 mol% Eu2+ into 3Y-TZP not only has no obvious effect on tetragonal phase, grain growth and mechanical properties of 3Y-TZP disc but also shows high biological safety. Therefore, Eu2+-doped 3Y-TZP bioceramics are promising fluorescent bioceramics for dental restorations combining esthetic with biocompatibility.
