In the title complex, [Cu(C7H2Br2O3)(C12H8N2)]center dot H2O, the Cu-II atom is coordinated in a slightly distorted square-planar geometry by two O atoms from a 3,5-dibromo-2-oxido-benzoate dianion and two N atoms from 1,10-phenanthroline. The Cu-II complex and water molecules are linked into chains through O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds.
