摘要

Activated carbons show a good adsorption performance for refractory polycyclic thiophenic compounds which can not be removed by hydrodesulfurization and adsorption method using molecular sieves. The paper is reviewed on the adsorption desulfurization on activated carbons including the structure-activity relationship, surface modification and adsorption mechanism. The mesoporous carbons play an important role in the adsorption of polycyclic thiophenic compounds with big size;the oxygen-containing groups in the carbon surface can promote its adsorptioncapacity. The adsorption selectivity and capacity for polycyclic thiophenic compounds can be improved by loading metal ions or oxidative modification. To make activated carbons as adsorbents for desulfurization used in industry earlier, the research on the preparation of mesoporous carbons, surface modification and synergistic effect of pore with surface chemistry property should be promoted in future.
