This study is focused on the combination of ground based and satellite observations for the derivation of temporal variability of cloud cover fraction (cloudiness) over Magurele (44.35N; 26.03E) in Romania, between December 1st 2008 and December 31st 2011. Ground-based measurements from a mini lidar-ceilometer were combined with measurements of the Aqua and Terra satellite instruments of MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) system.
