摘要

The scattering rates are calculated for intraband transitions of confined electrons. Indeed, the scattering of electron by acoustic phonons in nanostructures such as core shell quantum dot generally controls relaxation process to the lowest energy states, and is a basis for understanding optical properties and coherence effects in these systems. In this work we investigate theoretically the electron acoustic phonon interactions via deformation potentials in CdS/ZnS core/shell nanocrystals. We also discuss the influence of the temperature and the quantum dot size on the scattering rate. It has been shown that it is possible to tune the strength of the electron phonon interaction in a desired way by varying the core and shell thickness.
