摘要

The mononuclear complex [Ni(pbba)(2)(N-3)(2)] (1) [pbba = N-((pyridin-2-yl)benzylidine)benzylamine, (N-i,N-p); N-i = imine N, N-p = pyridine N] has been isolated following an earlier procedure and structure is determined by X-ray diffraction technique. Single crystal structural analysis shows that the metal center in 1 adopts a distorted octahedral geometry with an NiN6 chromophore ligated through four N atoms of two unsymmetrical (N-i,N-p) bidentate pbba units. The hexacoordination is completed by two N atoms (N-a's) of terminal azides in mutual cis orientation. The gross geometry is a cis, trans, cis in the order (N-i,N-i), (N-p,N-p) and (N-a,N-a). Intermolecular weak C-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bondings in 1 give rise to a 1D chain structure.
