Analysis of partial vacuum formation and effect on discharge parameter in short gap ESD

Transition phenomenon between avalanche process and surface process is resulted from fast electrode moving speed which creates partial vacuum state in short gap for micro gap electrostatic discharge. Based on analyzing property of partial vacuum forming with fluid mechanics principles, explanation was given on the influence on discharge parameters from partial vacuum formation.
