Future Internet should be capable of extensibility, mobility, and adaptability to the changes of different users and network environments, so it is necessary to optimize the current Internet architecture and its applications. The nervous system, endocrine system, and immune system are three important physiological modulation systems in body, and compose the neuroendocrine-immune systems (NEIs). Inspired by the resemble features between NEIs and future Internet, we introduce some key principles and mechanisms to design a bio-network architecture. Also, we develop a bio-network simulation platform in order to simulate network services and applications. As a demonstration, we build an application of resource discovery. The experimental results show that the bio-entities on the platform provide services quickly to user requests. With the advantages of heterogeneity, dynamical adaptability, security, and reliability, the bio-network architecture provides a novel way to design Internet information intelligent services and applications.
