摘要

In order to ensure that the securing arrangements were automatically worked out by computer, based on a principle of mechanics, the force acting on a bridge fitting on top of a container stack in given conditions was proven to be linear with some distortion. The new terms which combined the flexibility and equivalent force of a stack and adjoining stacks which were under different securing arrangements were defined, and the way for calculating the both was also given. A calculating procedure and an example of a force acting on bridge fittings between container stacks on deck were provided. The result solves the efficiency assessment problem of different securing arrangements (including the bridge fittings used) on deck for large or super large containerships.
