摘要

The existing control methods for modular multilevel converters practically have many problems such as complex parameter tuning for multiple parameter controllers, large amount of calculation and low precision in steady performances. This paper proposed a new hybrid control strategy based on model predictive control, which utilized double closed-loop control to apply no static error control of AC side power, and adopted establishing cost functions and choosing the optimal switching state to realize circulating current control and submodular voltage balancing control. A weighting factor was introduced to reduce the switching frequency. An 11 level MMC simulation control system was built to verify the theory, and the results show that the proposed method is computationally efficient and has high control accuracy and strong robustness.
