摘要

Five concentrations of the bacterium, Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki were tested versus the 3rd instar larvae of the spiny bollworm (SBW), Earias insulana under laboratory conditions using dipping technique. The effect of B. t. kurstaki was significantly higher at highest tested concentration (10.24 x 10(6) I.U./ml). Percentages of mortality ranged between 11.11 - 100% after 2, 3, 4 and 5 days post treatment. Calculated LC50 was 27.045x10(5)I.U./ml.LT50 decreased with increasing of concentration. Histopathological alterations in the midgut of treated 3rd instar larvae revealed: distortion of the peritrophic membrane, elongation and separation of epithelial cells from each other, distortion and disintegration of epithelials falling in the lumen.
