摘要

This article describes the introduction of optical fiber for domestic users in the Republic of Slovenia. In the years before the economic crisis, the accelerated deployment of optical access networks and the consequent increase in the number of optical household connections were noted. Herein, the optical network topology used by Slovenian providers is reviewed, focusing on dual-fiber use per subscriber installation. The market share and near-future plans of the Slovenian fiber-to-the-home providers as well as government perspectives are also presented in part.
