摘要

In this paper, the Schiff base ligand, 2((2-hydroxy-ethylimino)-methyl)benzene-1,4-diol (H3L'), was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR and H-1-NMR. Electrochemical behaviors were investigated on the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surface with cyclic voltammetric (CV) technique. The modification of H3L' on the GCE was performed in -100/+2600 mV potential range using 100 mV s(-1) sweep rate with 10 cycles. For the characterization of the modified surface 1 mM ferrocene redox probe in 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium tetrafluoroborate (TBATFB) in acetonitrile (MeCN) was used. The Schiff base was screened for in-vitro antibacterial activity against Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Streptococcus mutans and Staphylococcus aureus. Antibacterial activity was assessed using disc diffusion method. The formed inhibition zones were measured.
