A rechargeable non-aqueous Mg-O-2 battery

We propose a catalytic cycle using the iodine-dimethylsulfoxide (I-2-DMSO) complex for the realization of secondary Mg-O-2 batteries. We have demonstrated that the Mg-O-2 battery incorporating an I-2-DMSO complex electrolyte showed evidence of being rechargeable.
