A bound for the exponent of the Schur multiplier of a finite p-group

Let p be a prime, G a finite p-group, r the rank of G and e the exponent of G. In this short note we will prove that the exponent of the Schur multiplier of G divides p(e+rinverted right perpendicularlog2(rlog2 p+1/p-1)inverted left perpendicular).
