摘要
High performance user-level network designs need accurate communication analyses. A performance measurement method based on communication analyses was developed to provide detailed analyses of communication performance data. The system firstly analyzes the network architecture and communication processes. Then the system pings targets as a benchmark to measure the round trip travel time. The latency of each communication step can be derived from the pinging data. Test results show that the system is simple and effective, and provides more detailed information about the low level network than the LogP benchmark. The program also gives suggestions on how to use the network better and how to improve network performance.
