Ultrasonic studies of intermolecular interaction in binary mixture of n-methyl formate with 1-propanol at various temperatures

摘要

Density (rho), viscosity (eta) and ultrasonic velocity (U) have been measured for a binary mixture composed of n-methyl formate and 1-propanol at 303, 308 and 313 K. The adiabatic compressibility (beta), free length (L (f) ), free volume (V (f) ), viscous relaxation time (tau) and Gibbs free energy (Delta G) have been calculated from the experimental data. The excess values of these parameters (beta (E) , L (f) (E) , V (f) (E) , tau (E) and Delta G (E) ) have also been calculated by using the determined data and interpreted in terms of molecular interactions. The deviations in the sign and values of these parameters from the ideal mixing reveal intermolecular interactions in the liquid mixture.
