摘要

Objective To investigate children’s adherence to salmeterol and fluticasone propionate in the mild-moderate persistent asthma and to identify factors associated with adherence. Methods Questionnaires and objective records were used to measure the adherence of inhaled salmeterol and fluticasone propionate in 36 children with mild-moderate persistent asthma. The patients were followed-up for 1 80 days after treatment.Reasons for non-adherence was obtained. Results The mean adherence rate declined from 91 .2% in the first 1 4 days to 74.2% in the 1 80 days. The duration of asthma and father’s age were related to adherence.Among the 1 5 (41 .7%)children with poor compliance, fearing of side effects of long-term use of steroids and not realizing asthma since there was no apparent symptom were the main two reasons. Conclusion With the extended follow-up period, the adherence to inhaled salmeterol and fluticasone propionate powder had a gradual downward trend. The shorter duration the better medication adherence in bronchial asthma.Parent knowledge about childhood asthma is important to improve treatment adherence.
