In the rapid development of global economic activities, the globalisation becomes an important trend. When the economic development enhances the rapid and convenient life for people, the earth environments are damaged while the public enjoying the life. The impacts of global warming, extreme climate, and environmental pollution on the earth ecology and human life in past years have facilitated the public introspect the importance of environmental protection as well as arisen the awareness. Various industries start to propose operation and production measures to reduce environmental pollution and energy consumption, and environmental protection becomes a part of a business social responsibilities. Top ten of 2014 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 China are selected as the evaluated units in this study. The research results show that 1 hi-tech decision measuring unit (DMU), about 10% of all DMUs, presents strong-form efficiency on the environmental performance, with the efficiency 1, revealing the good environmental performance efficiency; 5 DMUs with the efficiency in 0.9-1, about 50% of all DMUs, are the marginal inefficient units, presenting that the environmental performance efficiency could be easily promoted; and, 4 DMUs with the environmental performance efficiency lower than 0.9, about 40% of all DMUs, reveal the inefficiency. The research results are expected to assist hi-tech industries in promoting the environmental performance.
