摘要

Manifold method for direct numerical solution of steady incompressible viscous flow Navier-Stokes equations was developed in this paper, in which numerical manifold schemes were derived based on Galerkin weighted residuals method, mixed cover with the first order function for velocity and constant function for pressure was adopted in finite element cover system. Mixed cover manifold element can be applied to directly solve Navier-Stokes equations integrated velocity and pressure. As an application, numerical manifold method was used to simulate steady incompressible viscous flow in typical driven cavity. High accurate results were obtained from 40 × 40 element grid at Re 7500 and 64 × 64 element grid at Re = 10000. Numerical results from much few calculational variables were in very good agreement with benchmark data, and it illustrated the adaptability and validity of numerical manifold method for Navier-Stokes equations. Numerical tests have indicated that manifold method was an effective and high order accurate numerical method for steady incompressible viscous flow Navier-Stokes equations.
