Novel route to cubic boron nitride dendritic nanostructures under electron beam irradiation

摘要

The nucleation and growth of c-BN dendritic nanostructures from h-BN induced by electron beam irradiation at room temperature in vacuum was directly in-situ observed. The c-BN nanostructures nucleate and grow at the thin edge of h-BN. It was found that the BN nanostructures grow in a dendritic form and Ma3N2 or Ca3N2 nanosized particles distribute among the BN nanostructures.
