摘要
A planar antenna with compact dimensions and broadband performance is presented here. It consists of a proximity fed monopole with a coplanar ground plane. By using a low-cost FR4 substrate with a thickness of 1.6 mm, a realization for 2.4-GHz WLAN systems is proposed and investigated both numerically and experimentally. Results demonstrate that a bandwidth up to 76% and a very compact area (46.5 x 75 mm(2)) can be obtained.
