摘要

A composite right/left-handed transmission line (CRLH-TL) composed of a substrate and X-shaped metal patches is proposed and investigated theoretically as well as experimentally. The scattering parameters are investigated both in electromagnetic (EM) simulation and equivalent circuit model simulation, it is found that the structure works as a dual band CRLH-TL having the first right-handed passband and the second balanced CRLH frequency band at the resonant frequencies of 6.27 GHz and 13.45 GHz, respectively. Moreover, the required equations and the dispersion diagram derived from the equivalent circuit model to analyze the proposed CRLH structure give strong support to the interpretation of all EM phenomena. The effect of the equivalent circuit model parameters on the dispersion diagram is investigated. A parallel-plate waveguide (PPW) measurement system is employed to validate the characteristics of the CRLH-TL whose features show that the design of the novel artificial TLs is more flexible and convenient.
