摘要

This study is aimed to monitor the learning stress of the students by measuring students' cortisol before and after the class. For this study, 28 students who are sensitive to SL-BIS (Behavioral Inhibition System about Science Learning) were chosen by conducting a Motivation System of Science Learning scale test. For these students, cortisol was measured and analyzed to check stress before and after the inquiry lesson. This study found that students who are sensitive to SL-BIS showed lower cortisol after the lesson than before. This result was statistically significant in a t-test. It proved that the inquiry lesson does not cause stress but has a positive impact on students. Also, it shows that students' activities for active learning decreases cortisol secretion. When confirming correlation between SL-BIS and stress statistically, the 'learning anxiety' section in SL-BIS had a meaningful correlation with the amount of hormone before learning session. This means that the hormone which has a physiological index has the same tendency with SL-BIS and students were stressed by internal conditions like anxiety of learning assignments, rather than the external environment related to learning.
