Ballistic analysis of homogeneous solid propellants subjected to thermal and mechanical pre-loading. Preliminary communication

Three com. solid rocket propellants were deformed by cyclic tension (1000 cycles) or thermostated at -35 degrees C to +50 degrees C for 192 h and studied for linear combustion rate in ballistic chambers. Both mech. and heat treatments resulted in a small decrease (by 1-2%) in the combustion rate.
