摘要

Spray drying for particulate products is an energy-intensive process. To decrease energy consumption, an effective heat recovery system for a soy protein powder plant is proposed in this, paper. A water loop with heat pump is employed to recover the waste heat of the exhaust air to preheat the inlet ambient air for spray drying and space heating during the heating season. Operating performance of the heat recovery system in a whole year is calculated, and economic analysis is conducted based on the calculation results. As a result, it is found that the heat recovery system could reach 21.3% energy-saving amount compared to the traditional spray drying system. And the static payback period of the heat recovery system is around 2.4 years.
