摘要

In the present studies, cadmium (Cd) was determined in a beryllium matrix by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS). BeO samples were dissolved in a hydrofluoric/nitric acid mixture by heating under an infrared (I.R.) lamp and analyzed directly in the presence of the major matrix. The optimized temperatures for pyrolysis and atomization were 400 degrees C and 2200 degrees C, respectively. The characteristic mass and the lowest amount determined were 0.095 ng/ml. and 2.5 picogram (pg), respectively. The repeatability ranged from 5 to 7% for Cd.
The results of the analyses of the Cd-spiked samples were in close agreement with the added values. The significant enhancement in the absorbance of Cd in the presence of the matrix is discussed. The method developed was utilized for the rapid analysis of real life samples without prior separation of the matrix.
