Flower-like NH4V4O10 micro/nano structures were prepared via a template-free hydrothermal route. The structure, morphology and composition of the as-synthesized products were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) measurements. The diameter and length of the "petal" of the as-synthesized flower-like NH4V4O10 are about 100 nm and several microns, respectively. Effects of hydrothermal reaction parameters were investigated, such as the reaction temperature and time on the structure and morphology of the products. The electrochemical lithium storage of the as-synthesized products was also investigated. The experimental results show that the flower-like NH4V4O10 micro/nano structures exhibit high discharge specific capacity of 307 mA . h/g, indicating their promising application as cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries.
