Nucleophilic organocatalysis through umpolung

In this review the recent advances in this field are summarized and the catalysts using C, N, P and S as the nucleophilic center are surveyed. The performances of different catalysts in a variety of reactions are analyzed. The possible umpolung mechanisms of these catalysts are discussed.
