摘要

The proportion of investment casting products in modern casting industry increased very fast in these years. Predicting the possible defects of investment casting by the computer simulation of solidification process is helpful for casting industry to optimize the techniques of investment casting, which will reduce the production cycle and save the cost compared with the traditional trial and error method. In this paper, the physical and mathematical model was presented and the numerical simulation of investment castings of steel casting based on this model was carried out to predict the shrinkage defects. The simulation results were compared with experimental results.
