摘要
Background. Aggressive and violent patients are a particular challenge for emergency medical services. Objective. This paper gives an overview on the models for the onset of aggression, the stages of agitation and violence, and the stage-dependent steps for de-escalation and crisis intervention in the emergency situation. Possible behavioral as well as pharmacological interventions are described. In this article, particular attention is given to the presentation of the OSCAR concept, as a guide for the assessment of and the procedures in the treatment of aggressive patients. Methode. Research and analysis of the current literature; presentation of the OSCAR concept.
