Association analysis between symptoms (signs) and syndromes of chronic gastritis based on associated density

Objectives: An association analysis between symptoms (signs) and syndromes in patients suffering from chronic gastritis (CG) can provide references for research on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnosis and treatment of CG. Methods: This paper used investigation methods of clinical epidemiology and adopted associated density to conduct association analysis between symptoms (signs) and syndromes. Results: Some symptoms, including tongue manifestation, complexion, and pulse conditions, were selected. Their associated density values were more than 0.6, 0.2, and 0.4, respectively. Conclusions: The associated density method can find the association of symptoms (signs) and syndromes. The results are in line with TCM theories. This method effectively complements and supports the perspective and theories of TCM.
