The examination of cerebrospinal fluid plays a significant role in veterinary neurology, especially for the didgnosis of inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system (CNS). Due to the anatomic position of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), the acquisition of CSF is challenging and sufficient practice required for a low risk procedure in patients. All currently commercially available simulators do not take veterinary features into consideration. Therefore, practice opportunities for veterinary students and veterinarians are insufficient. For this reason, designed for developed at a simulator specifically veterinary medicine was the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, foundation. Moreover, impartation and acquiring of knowledge and practical skills of CSF puncture in small animals should be improved combining the simulator with structured instruction forms and video.
