Agent-based intelligent algorithm for uniform parallel machine scheduling problem

A uniform parallel machine scheduling problem with release dates to minimize makespan was considered. This problem is at least NP-hard. Algorithm ABH, which was an intelligent scheduling algorithm based on Agent technology in order to realize the manufacturing scheduling process robotized by means of the intelligence of machine, has been developed for the problem. Semantic description of two kinds to the Agent was given. The results and analysis of quite extensive computational experiments were reported and discussed, and ABH algorithm is superior to the existing algorithms, and its average relative error is less than 0.084%.
