A combined heat treatment process for Ag/Bi2223/Ag tapes

摘要

We have studied the influence of different atmospheres ( air or partial oxygen pressure) on the final properties of Bi2223/Ag tapes. The results show that the Bi2223 grain size after formation in air during the first heat treatment step is larger than in partial oxygen pressure, which leads to a higher critical current density in the fully reacted tapes. A combined heat treatment method is suggested for the thermal processing of Bi2223/Ag tapes, leading to higher critical current and shorter heat treatment time.
