摘要

In order to investigate whether biomass materials can substitute the oil-based plastic material applied in parking container, bio-boards were produced using unused sea algae. Four processes were carried out to produce a biodegradable board which involves refining, defibrating, compression molding and drying. Mechanical properties evaluation of produced biodegradable bio-board shows the rupture stress in the range of 13.65MPa to 75.3MPa, which is 1.14 similar to 6.28 times stronger in comparison with that of polystyrene plastic material used for food containers. Therefore, the use of bio-board as a substitute for oil-based plastic materials in food packing containers, culture pans, mulch film and so on is technically possible.
