摘要

Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) is the causal agent of bacterial leaf blight of rice. In xanthomonads, HrpG (an OmpR family response regulator) and HrpX (an AraC-type transcriptional regulator) are the two key regulatory proteins required for regulation of hrp genes. Recently, we reported that an ORF XOO1662 encoding a putative leucine-rich protein (designated as LrpX) seems to be involved in pathogenicity but not in HR elicitation. Here, we report that LrpX is involved in negative regulation of a major hrp regulatory gene, hrpG, and of the genes in most of the hrp operons in Xoo.
