摘要

Gaining statural height is an important aspect of growing up for young persons, and reduced height can impair the quality of life of affected persons. Since condition-specific instruments for the assessment of quality of life of children and adolescents with short stature are lacking, the internationally developed QoLISSY Questionnaire was psychometrically tested in a German sample. The QoLISSY questionnaire was completed by 69 young persons (8-18 years) with diagnosed Idiopathic Short Stature (ISS) or Growth Hormone Deficiency (GHD). Internal consistencies and test-retest reliabilities were calculated. Convergent validity was examined through correlations with the generic KLDSCREEN 52 questionnaire. In addition, group differences regarding clinical and sociodemographic parameters were inspected. Reliabilities of the QoLISSY subscales and total Quality of Life score were satisfactory with internal consistencies between Cronbachs a of .77 and .94 and acceptable test-retest reliabilities (r) ranging from .53 to .87. Correlations with conceptually similar scales in the KlDSCREEN 52 supported convergent validity. The QoLISSY questionnaire reflects the subjective impact of short stature on health-related quality of life of young persons. The instrument can be clinically used for a preventive screening of patient burden, as an outcome criterion in clinical research, and as a psychosocial indicator in epidemiological studies.
