摘要

In the present study, Al-Mg/Al2O3 and Al-Mg/SiC-Al2O3 composites were prepared by pressureless infiltration. Vibration was used in order to prevent the formation of oxide film. Aluminum melt was infiltered in 850 degrees C in ceramic preforms. The composite wear behavior was examined by pin-on-disk method. Results showed that composite wear behavior was dependent on material type and ppi number of the reinforcement. Various factors including cell size, density and different wear loads affecting wear mechanisms were surveyed. It was revealed that composites with smaller cell sizes and higher densities had lower wear rates. In all composite samples, abrasive wear mechanism in 6.5 N load, and adhesive and delamination wear mechanisms were seen in 18 and 30 N loads, respectively.
