摘要

A multifunctional single-stage process which has a capability of solubilization-acidogenesis, methanogenesis, nitrification and denitrificaiton was performed to treat intermittently discharged blue mussel substrate. High CH4 yield of approximately 490 mL g-VS-1 was confirmed which showed comparable results to the biogas potential of easily biodegradable solid wastes. High nitrification and denitrification efficiencies of 79.6% and 100%, respectively, were observed. The presence of NO3- in the anaerobic solubilization-acidogenesis process increased the solubilization efficiency by 8.6% compared to the result from solubilization-acidogenesis only. In addition, adding NO3- Improved the acetic acid composition in the final VFAs to approximately 50%, regardless of the substrate type. The multifunctional single-stage process can reduce the number of reactors in a conventional separation process, leading to the reduction of the initial and operational costs. This study revealed that the proposed single-stage process has an application potential to treat effectively intermittently discharged organic wastes, which tend to increase in amount worldwide.
