摘要

The effect of calcite formed by microbial method and chemical method consolidation municipal solid waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash are firstly compared in this paper, and the characteristics of calcite formed by the two methods are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The results show that the loose MSWI fly ash particles could be cemented into a consolidated body with certain mechanical properties successfully by using of microbial cement. However, it could not be cemented to a whole body by calcite formed by chemical method. The analysis results of XRD show that the mineral precipitation induced by chemical method and microbial method are both calcite crystals. The SEM results show that the calcite formed by chemical method is mainly composed of skew six square lattice, and the distribution of the size of calcite crystals is uneven, however, the calcite induced by microbial method mostly exists in the form of spherical or the state of flaky aggregation. The TEM results show that the crystal particles of calcite induced by microorganism were smaller than that of chemical method.
