An Efficient Platform Design for Servicing Location-based Cultural Contents

There has been a recent steady rise of demand for cultural resources as important digital contents. When it comes to digitalized data, cultural content has dynamic features that include historical meaning, cultural content's location information, etc. Existing systems are incapable of sufficiently managing and servicing the dynamic features of cultural content; therefore, we propose a new platform that considers the dynamic features of cultural contents. The new platform also supports re-creating and sharing cultural contents. Our proposed platform provides an intercommunication mechanism between a user and the physical environment. The proposed platform can provide the user with customized information on-line or off-line by using location and profiling information. Each function is assigned a module that is inserted and deleted from the platform for improving scalability. Our proposed platform also defines the legacy layer interface for backward compatibility. The application scenarios show the data flow from the legacy layer to the application interface during the authoring and retrieving of cultural contents.
