In allusion to the problems of current continuous casting slag detection system, such as high cost, short working life and bad stability, a kind of slag detection system realization method based on vibration signal measurement was put forward. Slag carry-over process was detected according to the shock vibration difference of molten steel and slag. Using classification method for the threshold of vibration signal, sensitivity and application range of the system were increased. Combined self-adapt network technology, remote control for slag detection was realized. Experiments in the second steel factory of WISCO proved that this system can find out the time point of slag carry-over accurately, and its slag detection rate can reach more than 95 percents.
